Ta Xua peak, with an altitude of 2865m, located in Ban Cong – Tram Tau – Yen Bai, is one of the 15 highest peaks of Vietnam. Referring to Ta Xua, surely anyone who has been there will forever remember the mountain ridge stretching to the top like riding on the back of a giant dinosaur. Conquering Ta Xua is not easy for those who are not familiar.
Dusty undulating rocks, long and high slopes, a half-meter trail right at the ridge overlooking the deep abyss, the feeling when reaching the top and looking back on the way you have gone is difficult to describe. This is also a famous cloud hunting place that contains countless fascinating experiences waiting to be discovered.
Itinerary
Day 0: Hanoi – Tram Tau (B/ L/ D)
18:30: The guide will pick you up at the meeting point, get on the bus to move to Tram Tau, Yen Bai.
19h00: Depart to Tram Tau, travel time is about 5.5 hours.
0h30: Arriving in Tram Tau, overnight at the hotel.
Route: Hanoi - Highway 32 - Nghia Lo - Tram Tau.
Means of transportation: High quality bus.
Day 1: Tram Tau – Ta Xua – Campsite (B/ L/ D).
05:30: Get up early for personal hygiene and preparing your belongings.
07h00: The tour guide introduces the program and guides you to the notes in the journey.
07:30: The group gets on the bus to move to the trekking point at the forest mouth of Ban Cong commune.
08h00: Arriving at the trekking point, send your luggage to the porter.
11:30: Rest and have lunch.
16h30: Arriving at the campsite, rest after the journey of the first day.
18h00: Enjoy dinner, then spend the night in an airtight wooden shack with blankets and insulation mats to keep warm.
Day 2: Reaching Ta Xua peak – Conquering the Dinosaur Backbone (B/ L/ D)
05:30: Wake up, have breakfast, sip a cup of coffee or hot ginger tea.
07h00: Warm up and start the last leg to reach the top, conquer the legendary Dinosaur Backbone.
12h00: Touching Ta Xua peak, you can rest, take pictures to check in, enjoy the scenery on the top of the mountain.
After lunch, the group returns to the campsite.
17h00: Return to the campsite, rest and have dinner.
Overnight in the wooden shack.
Day 3: Tram Tau – Hanoi (B/ L/ D)
06h00: Wake up, enjoy breakfast with coffee or ginger tea.
07h00: Start the journey down the mountain and have lunch along the way.
12h00: Return to the original starting point, walk down to the pick-up point.
13h00: Move to the hot mineral bath, relax after a long journey.
16h30: Enjoy dinner at the homestay, review the journey and congratulate the success. Then get on the bus back to Hanoi.
22:30: Return to the original meeting point, the tour guide bids you farewell. The program ends.
