Located in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, Nhiu Co San peak is also known as Buffalo Horn. The terrain here is very diverse and interesting.
The road to the foot of the mountain to start the trek is quite difficult, especially in the rainy season, the road is slippery. Initially you will encounter low hills with shrubs, grasslands and cliffs. Climbing higher, you will step into the primeval forest with tall and massive wooden trunks, and the maple leaves fall like a romantic European scene.
Ong Chua Waterfall can be considered a unique symbol of this mountain. From the cliff hundreds of meters high, the white water poured down like a giant silk strip. During the cold monsoons, it’s often submerged in ice. You can see the image of trees and leaves “turning into glass” in the enchanting forest.

Itinerary
Day 0: HANOI - SAPA
23h00: The group gathers at 270 Nguyen Hoang to get on the sleeper bus and move to Sapa.
– The bus will go through Noi Bai airport area after about 30-45 minutes of departure time, so you should choose the flight to the airport no later than 22:30.
– Buses depart daily, so you can go to Sapa before or stay after completing the trekking.
Day 1: NHIU CO SAN - CAMPSITE
– 04h00: The group moves to the accommodation in the center of Sapa town, rest and do personal hygiene.
– 06h00: Have breakfast at the restaurant, then leave unnecessary items and prepare to start the journey.
– 07h00: The bus picks up the group and moves to Den Sang commune, about 60km from Sapa. Then you take a motorbike taxi to Nhiu Co San village.
– 09h30: Arriving at the starting point at the foot of the mountain, you will meet the porters from the H'Mong ethnic group who will accompany to help the group. The journey begins.
– 10h15: Go through Ong Chua Waterfall – one of the most beautiful check-in points on the trip.
– 12h00: Enjoy lunch.
– 16h30: Arrive at the campsite around sunset, the group rests after the journey of the first day. While the porters prepare dinner, everyone is free to roam around the campsite, or you can assist with the food.
– 18h30: Have dinner, exchange, communicate with the members of the group, then continue to enjoy the quiet mountain space.
Overnight in a wooden shack, covered with blankets and insulated mats to keep warm.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: REACHING THE NHIU CO SAN PEAK/ SAPA TO HANOI
– 04h00: Have early breakfast, enjoy coffee or a cup of warm ginger tea.
– 05h00: Begin the final conquest to reach the top. During this stage, everyone will leave their belongings at the campsite and go to the top empty-handedly.
– 07h30: Reaching the Nhiu Co San peak, the group rests and enjoys the scenery on the top of the mountain.
– 09h30: Return to the campsite and pack your personal belongings to return to the original starting point.
– 12h00: Have a light lunch on the way down the mountain.
– 14h30: Take a motorbike taxi to where the bus parks to transfer back to Sapa.
– 17h30: Arriving in Sa Pa, you take a bath with medicinal leaves of the Dzao people, soak in a hot tub and relax after a long journey.
– 19h00: Have dinner at the restaurant. Enjoy sturgeon hotpot with lots of fresh vegetables and raise a glass of sweet apple cider to celebrate the success.
– 23h00: Get on the sleeper bus back to Hanoi.
– 04h30: The next morning, back to My Dinh bus station. The program ends. The tour guide bids you farewell and see you in the next programs!

For the most convenience, you should choose a flight departing from Noi Bai airport at 07h00.

- 01 set of long-sleeved, quick-drying clothes to wear when trekking.
- 01 set of clothes to wear when sleeping in a tent on the mountain.
- 01 set of clothes to change when returning to Sapa and getting on the bus back to Hanoi (you can send it back to the homestay before the trek).
- A good quality specialized mountaineering shoe for rough terrain.
- 2-3 pairs of long, thick socks (high neck socks are recommended).
- Personal items: mosquito repellent, hat, thin raincoat, nylon boots, brush, eco-friendly toothpaste (please contact us if you need help).
- Documents to bring: ID card or valid passport.
